Mold Coatings for Release & Protection
Permanent mold coating is one of the operational parameters of the casting process that is often overlooked or misunderstood.
Coatings are necessary to provide 3 basic functions
- Act as a protective barrier between the mold and the casting to prevent mold erosion and wear
- Some degree of control over the solidification rate and direction
- Ensure the cast metal can be easily released from the mold as a barrier between the mold and the casting
There are different types of coatings, including release coatings that help with the mold release (often containing graphite for its lubricative properties) and insulative coatings that control heat flow (with varying refractory materials like vermiculite, bentonite, or graphite affecting their properties).

Pouring Cups

With the HALL Vac-U-Check you are assured a quick, simple, economical, and accurate method of monitoring the hydrogen level in your melt.
A vacuum solidified sample exaggerates the hole size, making the analysis of gas in the sample easy to determine by visual methods or by using the specific gravity formula.

Jesse Hernandez betreibt und verwaltet unsere Maschinenwerkstatt bei CMH Manufacturing. Er begann sein Arbeitsverhältnis bei uns am 21 Juli 1983 an und ist unser erfahenster Mitarbeiter. Als er bei CMH anfing gab es lediglich eine Drehbank und einen Mitarbeiter in unserer Werkstatt. Alle Druckplatten wurden mit einer Bohrmaschine bearbeitet und er konnte nur zwei proTag produzieren. Durch technologischen Fortschritt konnte eine Druckplatte in 90 Minuten produziert werden. Vier Männer sind nun Teil unseres Teams in der Maschinenwerkstatt und sie bedienen Drehbänke, Vertikal- und Horizontalfräsen und CNC Horizontal-Bohrwerk sowie CNC Drehfräszentrum mit Werkzeuganschluss. Die Maschinenwerkstatt setzt auf Präzisionswerkzeuge mit einer Genauigkeit bis auf den Tausenstel Miliemter. Jesse und seine Frau Anna sind seit 38 Jahren verheiratet. Sie haben drei Söhne und drei Enkel.
